Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small, screw-like device that serves as a replacement for a missing tooth. it’s made of metal and works well with your body. Dr. Voss’s implant restorations are virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
How Do Dental Implants Work?
1. Placement
Dr. Voss places the implant into your jawbone. This acts like the root of a tooth, providing a sturdy foundation.
2. Healing
Over a few months, the implant and jawbone fuse together in a process called osseointegration. This makes the implant very stable.
3. Abutment
Once the implant is securely in place, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. This one piece sticks out above the gumline.
4. Crown
Finally, a custom-made aritifical tooth, called a crown, is attached to the abutment. Dr. Voss designs the crown to look and function like your natural teeth.
